Maymont’s Wild Things
Discover wildlife living in Virginia and maybe right in your backyard! This hands-on program introduces students to a variety of Virginia animals, and includes experiments, games, and crafts. Each week, a new LIVE animal visitor will join Maymont staff for more animal fun!

Bricks4Kidz Wheels in Motion - Class is full
These wheels are ready to roll! Students will use LEGO® Bricks, axles, pulleys, gears, motors and more to build a variety of models on wheels. Some are familiar vehicles, such as a fire engine and delivery truck. Other amazing models, such as the Rescue Robot and K-9 Bot, will give students more to learn. Do you have a need for speed? Put your Speed Bot model to the test as you race against others! We’ll explore concepts of speed and force, and gain non-vehicle knowledge from the unconventional Wheels in Motion models as well. Let’s roll!

Little Scholars Dinosaur Discovery
Take an adventure back to the Jurassic Era where we will learn about dinosaurs who roamed the Earth millions of years ago. Uncover fascinating facts, build a dinosaur replica, and have an archaeological dig as you explore your paleontological skills. In Dinosaur Discovery, you will become a paleontologist faster than Ornithomimids ran from a T-Rex!

Classes for 3rd – 5th Grades

Mrs. K’s Sports Academy
The Sports Academy allows young students to gain basic knowledge and fundamentals of sports and teamwork. There will be numerous fun and competitive games for students to play! The purpose of this program is to help students stay active and have fun while learning what it takes to be a part of a team. It will be about encouraging others at all times, communicating appropriately, and having a great attitude towards your team and competitors.

Engineering for Kids Robo Battles - Class is full
Robots have the ability to go places and do specific tasks that humans either cannot perform, or do not wish to perform. Robots have been sent into space, programmed to explore the depths of the ocean floor, and have performed precise medical procedures. In this six week session, students will begin to investigate the world of building and programming using LEGO® MINDSTORM robots to complete specific tasks. During the first session everyone will build a basic robot. Programming will begin on the second class along with the first battle! During the next four weeks, robots will perform a variety of battles or challenges including Tug of War, Jousting, Sumo Wrestling, and building a Catapult to throw a ball the greatest distance. May the best robot win!

Drama Kids
Join Drama Kids for our dramatic 6-week acting and improvisation workshop where students will participate in a wide range of new dramatic activities that include: mini-scripts, characterizations, scene starters, small plays, speech and movement techniques and improvisation skills. Above all, we NEVER repeat a lesson or play, our drama classes are fast paced, great fun, and have new activities and lessons each week. Session concludes with a wonderful mini-performance with costumes in class for family and friends.
