In January of 1999, the Pinchbeck PTA established the Marybeth Graff Scholarship Fund. Marybeth Graff was the President of the Pinchbeck Elementary School PTA at the time of her death in 1998. As the mother of four children and a foster mother to many other children, she was a PTA member of numerous schools during her lifetime. Marybeth, in addition to her activism in PTA, was a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, active in children’s sports, and mental retardation case manager in Powhatan and Goochland counties. She lived her life in an energetic, warm and humorous manner dedicated to helping those less fortunate and often forgotten by others.

This scholarship has been developed, not only to celebrate Marybeth Graff for her timeless efforts for children, but also to carry on her work as an advocate for special education and those with special needs.

This scholarship is intended to recognize a well-rounded Henrico County Public High School Senior who intends to pursue a career as a teacher in special education or a career in supporting children with special needs.
