Girls Bridging STEM Fair

Description

This free event aims to introduce female or non-binary middle school students to the world of STEM and engineering. No experience or prior knowledge is required to attend and participate.

The event will include a variety of activities for participants including an inspiring guest speaker working at Bank of America, hands-on engineering stations that touch different parts of engineering (biomedical, computer science, chemical, etc.), and a college/high school student Q&A. Students will be conducting experiments, coding with robots and more. Participants will be able to connect with other students from a range of ages, from middle school up to college.

This is a collaboration between J.R. Tucker High School's Girls Who Code club and Computer Science Honor Society and VCU's Society of Women Engineers. It's sponsored by the VCU School of Engineering and Bank of America.

Lunch will be provided, and it's free. Participants must arrange their own transportation. Email Yvette Lee at yglee@henrico.12.va.us for more information.
