PTA Friends of the Library and Literacy

We have a new PTA committee that supports the Pinchbeck Library and schoolwide literacy!  If you would like to receive updates from our librarian, Mrs. Glanden, and the PTA, about upcoming library and literacy events, goals, and volunteer needs, please consider joining, ‘Friends of the Library & Literacy’ by completing THIS FORM!

Below are the key ways that YOU can support the Library and Literacy committee this year at Pinchbeck:

• Support/coordinate volunteers for a possible monthly Mystery Reader program to begin in October (pending Principal Fellows approval)
• Share Library & literacy updates and needs with Pinchbeck families and friends
• Support author events in October and help fundraiser for extra copies of the books for classroom use, volunteer to assist for a "story walk" 
• Coordinate volunteers for the fall and spring book fairs including helping students make wish lists, set up and take down, and fulfilling orders. 
• Help promote the Character Parade at the November 2 Walk at School Wednesday event. Perhaps support a giveaway for student attendees. 
• Support the Meredith Benfer Reading Award by helping judge teacher nominees, request gift cards for the winners from the PTA budget and participate in any awards assembly to announce the winners.

Additional Library Needs:

The library is in need of volunteers to help re-shelve books and complete small projects from 1:30pm - 2:00pm. If you are interested in signing up for a September date, please visit here. If you have not done so already this school year, please complete this volunteer form. Allow 3 days for approval. Thank you!
